O 1965 Beetle Pickup, affectionately known as “Veríssimo”, carries with him a story that mixes hard work, family tradition and a generous dose of passion for classic cars. His journey began almost 60 years ago, in 1965, when he left the Volkswagen production line as a Traditional Beetle, ready to hit the streets of Brazil. However, fate has something special in store for this Beetle, transforming it into a unique rarity.

In the 1980s, the Beetle was acquired by Seu Veríssimo's family, in Curitiba, Parana. The new owner owned a fire extinguisher company and, to meet delivery needs, decided to modify the car. The wooden bucket was added, transforming the model into a functional pickup truck. For 40 years, the Beetle Pickup served the company faithfully, becoming a symbol of effort and innovation.

Years of Rest and Abandonment

With the death of Mr. Veríssimo in 2009 and the closure of the company, the Beetle was left without a clear purpose. It was used by the family on a daily basis, but time took its toll. Despite receiving minor repairs, the car began to present more serious problems, until it was abandoned in the backyard of the family home. 10 years, he remained still, waiting for a new chapter in his story.

In 2019, Veríssimo's fate changed. Dinei, from Villa Car, found out about the possibility of purchasing the car and wasted no time. The Beetle needed a complete restoration: bodywork, painting, electrical, suspension, everything needed attention.

However, there was a tight deadline: 90 days to complete the transfer of documentation and undergo inspection by the DMV. Dinei dismantled the entire car and made the most urgent repairs so that the Beetle could be regularized. After two attempts, the vehicle finally passed the inspection, with its configuration two-passenger pickup truck officially registered.
