“I’ve already been offered a pickup truck in exchange, but the Mini Beetle has immense sentimental value to me. It’s been in the family for 20 years and was the car I used at my wedding,” reveals Vitor.

Bureaucracy and Legalization

Like all modified cars, the Mini Beetle faced bureaucratic challenges. Soon after its completion, Vitor had problems with the police. During a checkpoint, the car was seized under the allegation that its documentation was falsified.

However, the head of the Ciretran of Vilhena, Nilton Locatelli, clarified the situation. According to him, the vehicle passed all the inspections of the Inmetro and was legalized by DMV, complying with safety standards.

“Modified cars must be validated by Inmetro. This Beetle passed the tests and can circulate anywhere in the country like a conventional vehicle,” explains Locatelli.

This process reinforces the importance of regularizing vehicle modifications to avoid future problems.
