The car in question is a Fiat Uno CS 1984/85, which has been under the care of the same family since 1994. This fact alone would be enough to spark the interest of many enthusiasts. But what really sets this project apart is the context in which it was conceived and its execution.

The current owner, Daniel Silveira, inherited the Uno after his mother passed away, who received the car in 1994. The Uno served as the family’s main vehicle for years. When Daniel took over the vehicle in 2002, he initially wanted to simply repair it and add a set of 15-inch wheels. However, fate had bigger plans for this little hatchback.

From Basic to Extraordinary

After facing difficulties with repair and painting shops, Daniel decided to do everything on his own, without rushing and with the goal of creating something that would honor his mother's memory. The plan was to transform the Uno into a car inspired by the legendary Lancia Delta HF Integrale, one of the most iconic hot hatches in history.

To achieve this, the Uno underwent a complete body restoration, following Fiat's own standards. The project then evolved with the installation of a carbon fiber bodykit – a bold and unprecedented choice in Brazil at the time. This process began Daniel’s career in manufacturing carbon fiber parts, culminating in the creation of his company, DS Special Parts.

A Uno with a Heart of Tempra Turbo

At the heart of this project is an engine 2.0 16V Twin Cam, originating from a Turbo Tempra, and prepared to achieve impressive 450 hp of power. Using forged pistons, Scat connecting rods, a Masterpower 6164 turbo and other high-performance components, the engine was tuned to deliver plenty of power. According to Daniel, with additional adjustments, the engine could reach up to 600 hp with overboost.

To top it off, the Uno maintained front-wheel drive, but with adaptations to the gearbox and differential, in addition to being prepared to receive a sequential transmission in the future.

Interior and Suspension: Attention to Detail

Inside, the car is a true museum of rare parts and meticulous modifications. It features original elements from the Uno Turbo, such as linings and sunroof, combined with a Momo steering wheel and Sparco Sprint seats. In addition, an eight-point stainless steel roll cage was installed.

The suspension and brakes also received significant upgrades, with discs from Turbo Tide and high-performance adjustable shock absorbers.

Why R$ 200K?

The asking price for this Fiat Uno Turbo is of R$ 200,000, which may seem high at first glance. But when you consider the costs involved in the transformation, it becomes easier to understand. Only the carbon fiber bodykit costs about R$ 40,000, while the prepared engine does not cost less than R$ 20,000. Adding to this the restoration of the bodywork, the customized interior, and the imported parts, the final value starts to make sense.

Furthermore, it is important to remember that this project took over 15 years to complete, requiring not only money but also time, dedication and exceptional skills.
