If you are passionate about classic cars, get ready for a story that combines rarity, patience and dedication.
This is the story of Jorge Cirne, a passionate collector who rescued a VW Beetle 1949, one of the oldest in Brazil, thanks to the discovery of its original engine.
Jorge started the conversation by highlighting the rarity of his vehicle: “It's a very interesting little car and, as far as I know, there are only three in Brazil.”
The story began unexpectedly.
Jorge found a VW 1100 engine for sale on Mercado Livre. This engine, with 1,131 cm³ and 25 hp, caught his attention because, despite already having Split Window (1953) and Oval (1955) models, he did not have any car with this engine configuration.
When the Beetle finally arrived in Salvador, reality was a shock.
The bodywork was compromised, and many components would need to be replaced or restored.
Jorge decided that the Beetle deserved a meticulous and high standard restoration.
If you’re also an enthusiast, why not take inspiration from this journey? Who knows, maybe the next classic to be saved will be waiting for you at an auction or in a forgotten garage?
